Wright Woods

Today we took our bikes to part of the Des Plaines River Trail near Lincolnshire, IL. The trail system has a ton of different places to ride, but we chose to go to Wright Woods Forest Preserve today and give it shot. We were both hoping that we wouldn't arrive at a paved loop and fortunately it wasn't like that at all. The trail was gravel and dirt and went through the woods for the most part. It was a really fun trail and even a bit exciting if you wanted to race like we did. The paths are narrow and hilly in spots, but nothing big. It was a great trail to go ride if you're looking for good exercise but a relaxing ride. We ended up riding a little over 11 miles and never came across any roads other than a service roads into parking lots in the area for trails. We're looking forward to trying a few other trails in the Des Plaines system and hopeful that they will live up to this one.
